NO VX! Join the Fight!

DESTROYING CHEMICAL WEAPONS: THE DELAWARE RIVER DEBATE (Wilmington News Journal)

  • President Bush called VX a horrible Weapon of Mass Destruction when he said Iraq had it
  • Dupont and the US Army should not bring the residue of VX nerve gas that has been destroyed (a good thing!) to Delaware
    • The public has no confidence in the Army or in Dupont, which wants the contract to do the final treatment of the residue at their Chambers Works plant across the river
    • We are rightly concerned about accidents while in transit and about what Dupont will be putting into the Delaware River when they have processed the first-stage VX residue

Folks are just not willing to go along with trucking this poison from Indiana to the shores of the Delaware and dumping what remains after treatment in the river just so Dupont can make more money.

Managing this dangerous process of destroying the U.S. stockpile of VX nerve gas is a responsibility that we Americans bear for allowing our own government to create hundreds of tons of these WMDs. At the moment, the answer to the question "Where are the Weapons of Mass Destruction?" is "In the USA."

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that datacenters hog 1.5% of all electricity in the US. This trend is expected to double in the next few years. At Hosting.com, we're maniacal about eliminating our carbon footprint. And it's paying off...
